Many of the U's arts and culture entities offer a variety of programs for children and families. From painting to acting to planting to dancing, there's an enriching activity for everyone in the family.

Natural History Museum Family Programs

Dig deep into the natural wonders of the world with immersive learning and hands-on activities from the paleontologists and scientists at the world class Natural History Museum of ǧ¶ÈÈȲ¥.

Preparatory Music Program

 The School of Music has been developing the talents of young musicians for more than 30 years on instruments such as guitar, organ, piano, and the strings.

Red Butte Garden Youth & Family Programs

 The Red Butte Garden is a wonderful place for the family to enjoy the outdoors and to learn about the vegetation and animal life that abounds in the gardens. From summer camps to Saturday classes, Red Butte Garden is teeming with activity.

Tanner Dance Program

 At the Virginia Tanner Dance Program, the studio—now located in the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts & Education Complex—is a sanctuary for children, where they can step into an environment that nurtures positive growth and development.

ǧ¶ÈÈȲ¥ Museum of Fine Arts Family & Children's Programs

 The UMFA has an array of opportunities for children and their families to explore the world of art that is accessible at the state's flagship fine arts museum. 

Youth Education Art Classes

 The creative juices will flow in these art classes that will elevate skills. Get the hands dirty with sculpture, dabble in watercolors, show the world a sense of style, be an architect for a week, or let the comic book heroes take flight through the U's Youth Education Program. 

Youth Theatre

 The University’s Youth Theatre is dedicated to empowering youth to skillfully participate in the performing arts as a vehicle to explore their creativity, engage in their ǧ¶ÈÈȲ¥ and think critically about the world. For over 25 years, Youth Theatre has provided high quality theatre arts programs for young people along the Wasatch Front.
